hi,
does anyone know how long it takes them to issue our ssn , i applied for it with my resident card, so assumed it would be the same time as i received my permanent resident card...but noooooo

I didn't see any service levels about when you will receive a SSN. However, if you ask, you can get a receipt from Social Security at the time you apply for a card then show it to your employer as proof. If you didn’t get a receipt, your employer may ask for identifying information such as your name, address, date of birth, sex and parents' name. Also, be prepared to show your employer your work authorization card from DHS and any other documents you have establishing your identity and eligibility to work.
