Got a letter the end of April stating ssi overpaid me. I don't get any money from ssi. I do receive monies from a workmancomp settlement for an injury. Called and was told they are still working on the situation. 6000 overpayment how? As I stated they don't give me anything, saying I have too much income so I live off my settlement. What to do.

I'd continue working directly with the SSA via the phone as you've already started.

If you do not agree that you have been overpaid, or if you believe the amount is incorrect, you can appeal by filing form SSA-561. You can get the form online or by calling us or visiting your local office. Your appeal must be in writing.

You also might want to look into filing form SSA-632.
