Plz Help! Was still employed NO pay on Disibility Soc Sec

I need help please.. I am worried sick. I injured myself at work in 07 and have been off permanently since Feb 08 with a cervical spine injury and numerous surgeries. In Feb 2010 I was approved for Social Security due to a disibility unrelated to the work injury. I was terminated from my employment on 12-03-2010. Because of this I received some funds that were like company stock or something that I never got in cash but were rolled over that I can get after 59 years old I am now 58.
Today I received a letter from Social Security requesting information on the monies I made from 2008 2009 2010 while I worked. I did not get approved for SS until 2010. Will this affect me ? Or can they take my social security away? I am going to make an appointment to go in and talk to them any advise is appreciated.
Thank You

It appears that you're describing two debilitating events - one in 2007, and one in 2010. Sounds like the later event is what qualified you for Social Security disability.

This is difficult to comment one as the details are kind of sketchy. If you did work from 2008 to 2010, normally you would not be able to receive disability "back payments" for that time. If you were disabled, you wouldn't be able to work.

This sounds like fairly routine questioning on the part of the SSA. If you received money for service from 2008 to 2010 (on your W-2), the SSA will want to know the nature of that money.

If it was money for wages, you likely won't get disability back payments for that time. If it was more along the lines of severance pay, private disability insurance, or worker's comp, it may still reduce your Social Security disability benefit.
