fraud

When I was 12 years of age, back in 1980-1981... my mother taught me to forge SSI checks. The checks belonged to my half brother and half sisters father. I was told at the time by my mother he would want me to do it so she could have the money. Also told if I said anything I would go to jail.

My own father was murdered when I was 8 years of age. He left me and my 2 brothers an inheritance. When I was 14 my mother claimed to have found a loop-hole and was able to get mine and my one brothers inheritance and used it.

What would YOU do with this knowledge? My mother caused me alot of emotion damage from childhood. Could she actually fineally be held accountable for her actions or has too much time passed?

I doubt if anything can be done about the inheritance, but I seriously think she should be made to pay back the money to SSI.

Are you sure these were SSI payments? If your father died, you may have qualified for survivor benefits with your mother possibly (likely) your representative payee. Unlike SSI, folks can receive survivor benefits irrespective of their assets (ex. inheritances).

The following indicates a five-year statute of limitations for Social Security criminal activity, but it appears there is no time limit for seeking return of funds.
