my son was recently diagnosed with high functioning autism. the psychologist told me to apply for ssi. what all do i need to bring into the social security office and how long will it take for my son to be approved?

I have not seen data for the waiting period for SSI for children. I have seen that the waiting period for disabled workers is several months.
In certain cases you can get expedited qualification for SSI, but I'm not sure your son would qualify.
