economic recovery plan

I think the one time payment of 250.00 is o.k. especially for the older americans. I wish it could be in the 1,000s where people could buy new automobiles, homes etc. But my question is my 10 year old daughter receives social security benefits from her deceased father.
I understand the child has to be disabled or on SSI which she is not.
Why can,t she received a check? Am I better off not to try and work and not live off the government? How many people will get checks for their kids because they receive SSI or the number of checks. I f you have 5 kids will you get 5 checks. Why work? You can just sit home and get more checks. Doesn't seem fair while I'm trying to teach my child to work and not live off the goverment Am I teaching her the wrong values? I have been a teacher assistant for 31years. I don't make enough to buy my child a small home which she talks about and wishes for. Somethings wrong with this picture. I don't me to sound rude or disrespectful. I'm just frustrated.
