At 60, I have been permanently disabled for a decade and collect SSI even though qualified for Social Security which could begin in two years when I am 62.
In the meantime, and after many years of online searching, I may have secured contract employment. (!)
Should I go through the effort to develop a PASS program? I am simply seeking the easiest method of handling this---the contract employment likely won't exceed $400-$500 a month, and I can't be sure of its longevity.
I am afflicted with Organic Brain Syndrome and have a crippling neurological disorder (CIDP) As such, I can't get too bogged down with paperwork---there are very few resources for help here in Curry County, and I only have a few hours each day with which to be productive.
Is there some process the SSA could implement which could make this seamless or am I stuck with a bunch of paperwork I won't be able to understand? I just need some more funds to help our disabled household make ends meet.
Thank you in advance.

Working under PASS (Plan for Achieving Self-Support)
I don't have much experience with PASS. As the program is outlined here (http://www.ssa.gov/disabilityresearch/wi/pass.htm), if you work with a vocational rehabilitation (VR) counselor, your PASS will generally be approved.
The relevant form (http://www.ssa.gov/online/ssa-545.pdf) is pretty lengthy at 15 pages, but you can use your computer to type in responses in the PDF form.
Here may be some information to help you find a VR or other resource to help :
