What exact documentation should I bring to the office to establish identity

a government document showing honorable discharge credentials : ) peace,

what is the social security "extension" number?
I ordered my social security card and they said it would take 5-10 days its been almost A MONTH!

So I went 3 weeks ago 2 get my social, they gave me a receipt saying I should be getting it in the mail within 2 weeks, if not I should let them know.
I called them today and apparently they don't even have MY file in their system! As if I never showed up that day!
So now I gotta go again and waste another hour wait with these Rude people.

Why is there no way to leave a message after hours?

I need to contact one of your employees, H. What is her email?

she and I have called and missed each other several times over the past weeks, she has notified me that it is vital I get in contact with her.

I know that she is very busy and in interviews most of the day. My calls to her go to voicemail, or the office is closed by the time I get a moment to call her. When she has called me back I have been at work and didn't know that she called until I pick up my voicemail and by then the office is closed again or it goes to Hatty's voicemail as she is busy at work. PLEASE SEND ME HER EMAIL OR HAVE HER EMAIL ME- d___@.edu

UT 3rd District Court – Preying on the Elderly to support Debt Collectors

My mother is 81 years old and disabled with arthritis, recently she had all of her social security savings garnished by an illegitimate garnishment order issued by the Utah 3rd district court (they didn’t even put the correct Judge’s name on the case).

She was not notified that her account would be garnished, or was she asked if her income was social security only, her bank also didn’t let her know that her account was just drained. She still has not received a writ of garnishment notice.
I live now in California, it is terribly upsetting that I cannot be there on a daily basis to ensure her safety if she falls, or gets ill.

Now I have to worry about the state of Utah court system taking her social security money to give to predatory debt collectors with trumped up fees and expenses on fraudulent debts . How will she pay her monthly bills and her property taxes? Will she now be at risk to lose her home?

What is wrong with this dysfunctional court court system? Is there an investigatory office that could help fix this issue. There should be regulation in place to protect the elderly from predatory debt collecting companies, or common sense on the courts not to garnish and elderly woman’s social security.

It is fairly rare for Social Security payments to be garnished. Basically, this can be done in only three cases :

  • To make child support or alimony payments
  • To make victim restitution payments
  • To pay federal taxes or other federal payments due

Given your mother's condition, I suspect she may fall under the third category. Note that SSI (different from "traditional" Social Security) payments may not be garnished.

You might want to see the following link which describes SSA procedures regarding Social Security garnishment.

In particular I found the following which may be of interest :

Beneficiaries do not have any right of appeal to SSA regarding implementation of garnishment orders. They can appeal to the issuing court to dismiss or modify the order. An appeal by the beneficiary may result in a new court order superseding the previous order which, when served on SSA, requires adjustments to the garnishment withholding. If a garnished beneficiary notifies SSA that he or she intends to appeal the garnishment order, tell him that:

The appeal alone might not cause any change in the withholding.

SSA will comply with any new court order issued as a result of the appeal.

If a copy of an appeal is received, consult either the clerk of the court receiving the appeal or submit it to the regional office for submittal to the Regional OGC for instructions as to compliance with the original garnishment order while the appeal is pending.

So I have a problem where I need to talk to my local office (Murray). The national 800 number told me this. Now when I call Murray's office, instead of being put on hold, it forces me to hang up and call again or it will automatically transfer me to the national number. This is extremely frustrating, and makes it very hard to get ahold of individuals at the office.
