social security disability

I am 67 and was on SSD. I also have a dependant child age 10 on SS who receives a benefit too. Now that my disability has changed to full retirement could I work without being penalized?

This may be possible -- please confirm with the SSA.

Note that normally if you receive retirement benefits, work, and are below the full retirement age, your retirement benefits will be reduced.

However, in your case (born 1943-1955), your full retirement age is 66. Starting with the month you reach full retirement age, you can get your benefits with no limit on your earnings.

Your case is a bit different as your retirement benefits are a "conversion" of disability benefits. I would confirm directly with the SSA for your case.

I am a schizophrenic off my medications and living on the street in Santa Cruz, Ca. I don't understand that I have a mental illness. My SSDI benefits are paid to my payee in Washington State.
If I could remember how to get in touch with him, can he forward my benefits to a Western Union, or does he have to send them to a bank account? Can he forward them to me in different locations as I wander around the United States in a delusional condition? Is there anyone willing to talk to me in Santa Cruz about this problem. Sky
