Try doing things online like applying for disability benefits at ssa.gov. Physical distancing of at least 6 feet and masks are required. SSA will provide a mask if you do not have one. Call to see if you can get an appointment by phone first. Fridays may have more appointments available.

Change of address
I called the SS# and got to the last question, (I also tried this online too with the same result), the last question asked for the exact dollar amount on the last SS check.
Since I have direct deposit , I stated the amount on my checking account statement....and the Soc.Sec. turned me down for address change saying they could not confirm my identify because the amount was not correct.
Good Grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stupid system
I have been trying to get info regarding change of location from one state to another but I never got anyone on line and the computerized system put me on hold for 20 minute each time and tells me to wait for the agent and then hangs up after waiting each time for 20 minutes. Get your act and your system cleaned up.
Westmoreland SS office
Just completed a somewhat complicated transaction with the personnel at this office. They were great! Didn't have to wait very long, the two clerks who helped me knew what I needed and were polite and gracious in helping me. Pleasant waiting room, very quiet. Security officer at door, but while I was there, he certainly wasn't needed. I recommend this office for those needing lots of help as I did.
