Yes, this may be possible.

Your child can get benefits if he or she is your biological child, adopted child or dependent stepchild. (In some cases, your child also could be eligible for benefits on his or her grandparents’ earnings.)

To get benefits, a child must have:

* A parent(s) who is disabled or retired and entitled to Social Security benefits; or
* A parent who died after having worked long enough in a job where he or she paid Social Security taxes.

When you qualify for Social Security disability benefits, your children may also qualify to receive benefits on your record. Within your family, each qualified child may receive a monthly payment up to one-half of your full disability amount.

However, I didn't see an easy way for you to simply "add" your child to your benefit.

Going to the online disability application link is probably not useful as it's likely a lengthy application geared toward those who need to demonstrate they're disabled.

I would contact Social Security directly for guidance.
