Stimulus payment eligibility
Please check with Social Security to confirm this. However, I suspect you would not be eligible unless you were actually receiving benefits during the month of January, 2009.

Eligibility and receipt of letter
You do not need to have received a letter to receive the stimulus payment. You must, however, must the eligibility criteria (current SS recipient, live in US or territories etc.).
Contact your local office after June 4 if you are eligible and haven't received payment.
