Does my wife qualify for social security

I currently collect social security disability. Married, age 63.

My wife will be 62 in three months. Her work credits fall short of the required amount. Can she still receive benefits based on my account?

Looks like your wife would be eligible for reduced benefits based on your work record :

http://www.ssa.gov/dibplan/dfamily2.htm

Benefits are payable to your spouse, age 62 or older, unless he or she collects a higher Social Security benefit based on his or her earnings record. The spouse benefit amount will be permanently reduced by a percentage based on the number of months up to his or her full retirement age.

Delaying initiation of benefits for her should increase her later payments if you choose to take that route.

Please contact SSA directly if questions.
