Archive survivor benefits

I'm really reaching here back to 1977-1978. Benefits from James G M working in Detroit auto plant. My mother Irene M stole them from me as I was 15 at the time. My sister, A S, became my trustee and still believe there was deceit from my family. We lived in Ontario,It took 4 years for Windsor, Detroit, to decide who would pay benefits. Detroit paid out lump sum and monthly payments. I'm interested in knowing what the lump sum actually was. How can I go about finding about this information? I am not in contact with my family.
Any leads I can search would be helpful. All I remember is we went to some office downtown Detroit to see how to get money back from mother.

Sounds like you had a representative payee (your mother) and you believe she misused the survivor benefits which were due to you.

I would say due to the time difference, it will be difficult to put enough information together to make a winnable claim.

However, please contact Social Security directly for your case.
