I have been getting SSI for a year now and child support even longer. For my SNAP benefits in Kentucky they have always only used my SSI as income and never my child support that I get for my 3 kids until this month when I got a new worker. She is counting my SSI and my child support that I get which dropped my SNAP benefits to $100 less than I have EVER gotten and nothing has changed with my information or income! When I question her about it all she says is that before my worker was only counting the SSI that I get and now she is adding in the child support that I get also!? I always believed that if you were on SSI that they could not count the child support as well?! Are my past workers and myself right about only counting SSI or is my new worker right about using both??
Is child care received counted as income for SNAP
We are not experts on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). We could not find details on Kentucky's specific program.
