Spousal benefits and outside pension
This is a rather complex subject, and it's best to contact the SSA or an outside expert for your particular case.
You don't indicate the source of "double dipping". If your husband receives a pension from a private employer, his Social Security benefit normally won't be reduced. However, if his pension comes from a government agency not covered by Social Security, then his Social Security benefit likely will be reduced by either the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO).
