Lost Marriage License
Socail Security has to have the orginial document, but what if they lose it? I received the letter to confirm my receipt and the letter reads all submitted documents will be returned to you with this receipt. No license was enclosed. I called the office and no one will return my call. What else can I do?.
Lost documents sent to Social Security
Sorry, I couldn't find much regarding lost documents. The SSA does say that certain difficult-to-replace documents (ex. foreign documents) should not be mailed. Instead, one should visit the Social Security office with such documents.
