Card centers are centralized processing sites for all Social Security number applications for area residents. You must visit a card center if you need a Social Security card, your personal information needs updating, or your employer asked you to visit a Social Security office.

Try online services like setting up direct deposit at ssa.gov. Social Security office hours were extended in March, 2015. Now, generally, all Social Security offices are open 9:00 to 4:00. Try calling to get an appointment before travelling. Fridays may be more open.
