My interpretation is you may be eligible for the $250 payment in May, 2009. Per the SSA, individuals eligible for Social Security, SSI, Veterans, or Railroad Retirement benefits at any time during the months of November 2008, December 2008, or January 2009 may be eligible for the one-time payment.
One-time payment when benefits end
My spouse on disability died 5/4/09, and I reported it the same day to stop her next payment. on 5/7/09 my bank was credited with the $250.00 payment, but on 5/8/09 this payment was reversed. I have a balance due to the IRS, could this have been taken for them? How can I tell? I am a veteran receiving a disability payment, am I elegible for this payment?
Stimulus payment reversal
It's unclear why the payment was reversed. The law requires the Department of the Treasury to deduct delinquent child support and debts owed to state and Federal agencies from the one-time payment. The one-time payment will not be used to collect Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit overpayments.
If you receive Veterans benefits, but NOT Social Security or SSI, you may be eligible to receive a one-time economic recovery payment? Contact va.gov or your local VA office for details.
stimulus checks for death benfits
I think that whoever has the child that receives the death benfits should be getting the stimulus checks that are going out . andy201999 @ yahoo.com
