I received letter that was contradictory and confusing. Was told to call and ask for Ms. S. T. K. No extension number was given in the letter and the automated phone menu requires extension. SO NO WAY TO CONTACT ANYONE -- AND LETTER STATES THAT IF WE DONT HEAR FROM YOU YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DENIED.
--Your government at work...very nice.

You'd think these people were supposed to actually help, rather than try to screw everyone out of their benefits.

Gov. vs People

I had the worst experience with them in pittsburgh, took days off work and school (my son)and spent gas money and wasted gas mileage to go on their wild goose chase,,and I dont know how they hire people or if they train these people, because no one at that office knows their job at all! And im putting in a formal complaint, called the 1800 number told to call them directly and the number showing is the 1 800 number I called! WOW-Government agencies really know how to piss their citizens off!! In any country.....

Although the hotline is primarily for fraud or other serious misconduct, you may want to report poor service the Office of the Inspector General.

The OIG receives employee-related and other allegations through SSA's fraud hotline. OIG then passes these allegations to the responsible SSA component for investigation, resolution, and if necessary referral back to the OIG Office of Investigations.

The only way I know to contact the OIG directly is via this page :

These idiots sent me through the most unavoidable and unnecessary run around ever. I was to get benefits on 12/02 and it was sent to the wrong address. Called the 1-800 # and was told that it would be traced and if not cashed it would be re-issued by Treasury. Fine. Didn't get cashed and I called again on 12/15, check never re-issued so should be ok this time, the rep said. 12/30, called again. Still no check. Never re-issued. Turns out a special message has to be sent to local ss office. Great. Called 01/10, still no check. Now all the sudden i'm told that I can go Downtown and have it issued then and there. Great, especially after saint a month to receive an initial benefit check while already receiving 1st month check. Oh and I greatly appreciated being on hold for 45:52 in order to be told my check could be re-issued locally. Awesome job government I still pay taxes to for screwing me over in the 1st place.

Great Place to live WORST S.S. Office. Slow, Teller didn't know the correct information to give me. I went back 3x before I will make a trip to where I grew up, North Side. I'm sure they can help me. And the Security Guard was way out of line. lol hilarious. get a grip
