I was marreid to my deceased husband just days short of it being 9 months. Are there any exceptions for this situation that would allow me to draw from his benefits as me being the widow?

Yes, there are several exceptions for this, including :

You are the mother or father of the worker's biological child
The worker's death occurred in the line of duty while he or she was a member of a uniformed service serving on active duty
The worker's death was accidental
