partial disability and partial invalidity pension

Hi,
I had an eye injury that left some consequences on my sight and so am partially disabled. Now I am emloyed for over a year. My question is if I am eligible to get any disability allowances and what does it mean for me and my employer in terms of any limitations for working hours and salary?

You may qualify for disability under Social Security.

For Social Security purposes, "blindness" is either of the following:

  • Central visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with the use of a correcting lens; or
  • A limitation in the field of vision so that the widest diameter of the visual field is an angle of 20 degrees or less (tunnel vision).
