court case unfavored

I had my court date, on December 13, 2011, the judge found that my claim was unfavored, my lawyer and I were both so shocked about the decision, I have been turned down twice before, and now another appeal, can I assume that this will take another long period to find out.

Generally, there are four levels of appeal :

  • Reconsideration;
  • Hearing by an administrative law judge;
  • Review by the Appeals Council; and
  • Federal Court review.

I'm not sure which level you're at. However, the SSA states that the Appeals Council take about a year to give proper consideration to each case to ensure the agency's final action is correct.
