Child qualifying for benefits when father is disabled
A child may qualify for benefits if they have a parent who is disabled and entitled to Social Security benefits. The child also must be 19 or younger and unmarried.
When you apply for benefits for your child, you will need the child's birth certificate and the parent's and child's Social Security numbers. Depending on the type of benefit involved, other documents may be required.
