I've been dealing with a plethora of health issues for years now. After originally applying for benefits and waiting about a year I was denied; I appealed it, and after eight months went by, eventually I got a CD-R with the information they had collected thus far (which I could only read some of as I as have no money to buy a new system to read multiple page TIFFs), as well as another set of forms for me to fill out with up to date information (prescriptions, doctors, work history etc) and the instructions to get my medical history from my doctors/ specialists and mail it all in together.
I want to be prompt with this, but as I have multiple health care providers it will take me some time to get it all. Should I call to explain this, or make an appointment so they know I'm not simply being lazy? How long does it take for the average person to get this in?
Time limits for appeals process

Regarding muli-page TIFFs, depending on your system you may be able to download a free utility to read those.
Bless you.
