I asked for a letter from Social Security stipulating I was disabled and receiving Social Security, so I could file under the Homestead Act, two weeks ago. What the hell are these people doing that they can't get a letter to me within two weeks. Apparently there is a great deal of incompetence and these people are getting paid for it!
Social Security Proof of Income Letter
The SSA says that normally you can receive this letter within 10 days. Normally you can apply for this letter online, but the service is under maintenance until Saturday, Feb 11, 2012.
You might get the letter more quickly if you contact your local Social Security office.
