I sent my ID and my original BC to my local SS office. Its been over a month. The local SS offfice does not know where my documents are and do not have the SSRA applacation i sent with my documents. I sent it certified. A SS agent signed the certified return receipt on 7/20/2012. I have not received any mail from any SS office. I would like for someone to give me information. Thanks.

Replacing documents lost by Social Security
Please contact Social Security directly for this. However, Social Security may pay to replace some of your documents -- for example pay for a new birth certificate.
For example, the following states that, "SSA may purchase evidentiary documents for enumeration purposes in certain instances (e.g., the office lost the evidence or the applicant reports he or she did not receive the returned document in the mail)."
