family of 5 mother and son both recieve ssi , what is the guide line for my husband income not to affect our ssi payments.

what can my husbands income be( weekly or monthly) without affecting our ssi benefits? also what if he lived with me off and on for 3 years and i never reported it? now socail secuirty send me a letter to come in with 3 years of bank statements, can i go to jail? or be completly cut-off? i dont know what to do cause we recieved food stamps for a year so i assumed ss knew and he was on unemployment( 250.00 a wk.) the second time he moved back,and my name is on he,s bank accounts so it looks like i had money and i didnt, i dont use those 2 accounts ther his???? advise anyone ???? appt. is friday and im scared to death!!!

I have not heard of anyone going to jail for neglecting to report changes in SSI status. However, I suspect jail could be a possibility for gross and continuing fraud regarding SSI benefits.
