currently reiving SSDI as only source of income and want to know if i'm eligible for SSI payments as well...

i'm currently only receiving SSDI as any reportable source of income and also a meger stippen through food stamps. I am also a medi-medi receipiant therefore do not want to harm my current benefits structure. But would like a little more from the gov't, such as SSI payments...my wife and i also quailify under the resource requirement aspect of the SSI as well........

Thought maybe you'd be able to help before subjecting myself to the process....thanks a lot for your help in advance....

The SSA states that many persons are eligible for benefits under both the SSDI and SSI programs at the same time. The SSA uses the term "concurrent" when persons are eligible for benefits under both programs. Below is a link which describes how a return to work may affect a person's concurrent benefits.
