I would like to know what are the procedures that ssi take when it comes to the backpay of a child.
my neice was just recently approved after 22 months of waiting. she recieved her award letter dated 09/19/2012.
QUESTION 1: how long does it take to start recieving benefits or to have the interview?
QUESTION 2: how does the payment of the backpay work?
i am hearing something about a "dedicated funds account"
do all of the back pay go there or some of it over a certain limit?
Receiving SSI back payments
Social Security usually is required to issue large past-due benefits in up to three installments, six months apart. However, you may be able to receive all of the back pay or a larger installment payment.
