My son went to prison about a year ago. He has worked in the past. He heard there was a program for convicts through the Social Security office for receiving benefits. Is this true?
No SSI while in jail
Generally, the government does not pay Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients during confinement for a crime in jail, prison or certain other public institutions.
