I have a 23 yr old disabled child who is receiving SSI. I am terminally ill and need to know what will happen to my child's SSI payment if he receives Social Security Survivor Benefits? Can he receive both after I die?
Thank you
SSI and survivor benefits
You will want to confirm with the SSA, but your child is likely to qualify for survivor benefits as long as you have enough work experience. Children can get survivor benefits at any age if they were disabled before age 22 and remain disabled.

It may be able to receive SSI in addition to monthly Social Security benefits, if the Social Security (survivor) benefit is low enough to qualify. Again, check with the SSA.

Bless you.
