My Parents & SSI

Hi:
My parents just got their citizenship. In fact they became U.S Citizen in Dec. 2011. But their SSI money they get every month is $547.00 per month for each. I mean Dad & mom each one get that amount of money and at the same time I know others get much different than my parents. As I know each one should get something around 700 something. Anybody could answer of my question that why it is so?
Thank you

If your parents have income, it's possible your parents are seeing reduced payments due to the notion of "deemed income".

See the following on how deemed income can reduce their monthly benefit :

Otherwise, contact the SSA for your particular case.
