I am wondering i live in Texas and they said said that as long as i stay in high school my mother would be receiving social security benefits, because of my dads passing in 2005. I am 18 an supposed to be a senior but due to my lack of credits im not, and the thing is if i stay the rest of this year at my high school i wont be able to graduate. But i recently found a program that they're offering at a community college by my house for students that are at risk for not completing high school or going to college. With that program i would go through it an get my high school diploma, but what i was wondering is that if i go there to get my high school diploma would i still receive social security benefits?

You may want to verify with the SSA for your particular situation, but this is doubtful.
In general, there are no Social Security benefits for children in college who are not disabled. Children of deceased, retired or disabled parents do receive Social Security benefits. However, they end after age 18, or at the end of the 12th grade, whichever occurs first.
