Promised additional monthly help hasn't come.
Since I divorced in 2005, my monthly income has been my SSDI. I've been told many times by SRS, Social Security, Medicare, and a number of hospitals and other financial assistance providers over the years that I qualify for full fincial help with my premiums, my co-pays, my medical bills, SSI (when they deducted by monthly expenses spent looking for a way to to increase my strength to work. When I contacted Medicare in 2005 to advise my monthly income had dropped, I asked if I qualified back then and I thought they had put everything in place.
If I didn't receive the financial aid I was supposed to receive, and was told I would receive, would these payments be retroactive?
This is one of many times I've searched for help, I've just lost my home to foreclosure, but I get sick frequently I'm up and down, so it makes living and trying to begin to work again very difficult.
I've been told I qualify for full financial assistance on my monthly medicare premiums, Medicaid, food stamps, Leap, TANF, SSI, HUD Rental help?
Could you please help me with this? I don't currently drive, but my sister could bring me to your office if I need to fill out any paperwork.
I'm staying for now with my sister, S. A. (also bipolar I and disabled) here in Lawrence, but I need to give them room.
MOST important, I don't like my family to see me sick so much, I can just barely stand all the stress I'm facing.
I'm sure you understand. I thank you for getting back to me as soon as is possible. And God Bless You.

Medicare for disability
As you may know, Social Security will automatically enroll you in Medicare after you get disability benefits for two years. Medicare has two parts -- hospital insurance and medical insurance.
Hospital insurance helps pay for inpatient hospital bills and some follow-up care. The taxes you paid while you were working financed this coverage, so it is free.
Medical insurance helps pay doctors' bills, outpatient hospital care and other medical services. You will need to pay a monthly premium for this coverage if you want it.
Most people have both parts of Medicare. If you have questions about this coverage, you can contact Medicare toll-free at1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to speak to a Medicare Customer Service Representative. TTY users should call 1-877-486-2048.
If you will have trouble paying the Medicare Part B premiums there is help for low-income Medicare beneficiaries.
Everyone with Medicare also has access to prescription drug coverage. For more information, we recommend that you read Medicare's Prescription Drug Coverage page.
People with limited income and resources may qualify for help with prescription drug plan costs.
