Husband receives SSDI if he is incarcerated does he still receive benefits?

If he were arrested on DUI(possibly for a year) or not adhering to a restraining order.....and my mom is the conservetor of the benefits, as long as it is still paying his mortgage(goes directly in bank and is transferred to the mortgage comany each month.) Would he still receive benefits or would they stop being paid? At this time my parents are still married.

Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments generally are not payable for months that you are confined to a jail, prison or certain other public institutions for commission of a crime. You are not automatically eligible for Social Security or SSI payments when you are released.

However, if you have eligible dependents who receive benefits, these eligible family members generally will continue to receive benefits.

You, or a member of your family, should contact Social Security right away to report if you are in jail.
