Missing check.

My disabled son has not received his check due on July 31st, 2011. I am his mother and his co-signer. I have called the office three times, each time they informed me it has been sent, they stated they re-issued another check after I called the second time, the second call was on August 11th. Each time I call I am told it has been sent, yet it never arrives and we are no further forward. His next check is due on August 31st, what are we supposed to do when we receive no help other than told the check has been sent?

Yes, typically you should report a missing check by calling the SSA at 1-800-772-1213.

To reduce the risk of a lost check, you may want to sign up for Direct Deposit to your bank account.

The Direct Express debit card is another viable option. The Direct Express card is a debit card you can use to access your benefits. And you don't need a bank account.
