My father passed away on 2010 and my mother is collecting his social security. We were told that she could later file and collect her social security since she also worked. She is 61 right now. Is this corect? I tried getting information from an agent but they were rude and didn't explain anything. And does she have to make an appointment or can we just go to our closest social security office?
