I work for a furniture and household goods company, in which i pack, move, load and unload peoples items all day. Recently I've broken my hand (not at work but at home) and have gone to see a Specialist who say i need surgery to realign my hand. he was given me a date for the surgery and a disability paper requiring me not to working for an additional 6 weeks. the surgery is in two days. is there any way i can apply for the disability benefits/checks to help pay for bills?

Social Security disability is only for folks facing a long-term disability. Even for those who qualify for Social Security disability, there is a five-month waiting period before Social Security disability benefits start. The five month waiting period ensures that during the early months of disability, the SSA does not pay benefits to persons who do not have long-term disabilities.
