i was married 30yrs and divorced.my husband started disability procedings while we were still married and was aproved after divorce. i am only 55 and been unemployed before end after...am i eligible for benefits at this time, he totally screwed me in divorcealongwith his crooked lawyer after 30yrs i got nothing zip zero..im not able to work due to back problems but have never applied for benefits.
Qualifying for benefits based on ex-spouse's record
I recommend contacting Social Security directly for your particular case. However, you likely will qualify for retirement benefits based on your ex-husband's record when you reach age 62 (and you are still unmarried).
