I began receiving survivor benefits when I turned 60, 2 years after my ex died. I was still working, so did not qualify for the full benefit. SS has asked me to estimate my earnings for this year and for next, and I returned the completed form about a month before I got laid off. Now my estimated earnings have changed drastically - especially for next year! I can't find out how to report this change. I can't find an appropriate form online, and the wait for a phone call is ridiculously long.
Reporting changes in wages - survivor benefits
Looks like this would be covered by the following page from the SSA's policy manual. Especially note section 4 :
https://secure.ssa.gov/poms.NSF/lnx/0302510005
Section 4 indicates that this information may be provided to the SSA via "Form SSA-1425, Reporting Changes That Affect Your Social Security Payment."
However, I could not find Form SSA-1425 on the SSA's web site. The closest I could find was the following from a non-governmental site :

Calling later in the week normally helps. This week's hurricane Sandy may have also increased phone call waits.
