I need to provide proof of my name change (due to marriage) in the form of either my original social security card or my marriage license. I was married 20 years ago and divorced 10 years ago and I can't find either of these documents. I don't remember what county in our city we obtained our marriage license. Is it possible to get proof of my old social security card?
Forums:
Copy of original Social Security card
I have only seen the ability to get a "replacement card" -- not a copy of your original card.
I suspect it would be easier to check the two or three possible counties (either web or phone) and obtain your marriage license that way.
