2104
2104. When are SSI benefits paid?
SSI benefits are not paid in the month that you first apply. After the month of application or the month in which you first become eligible and meet SSA requirements, SSI benefits are normally paid on the first day of the month they are due. For example, benefits for August are paid August 1. (See §§2180-2188 for more information on payments.) It is important to project eligibility and to estimate future income and resources as accurately as possible. We identify and correct errors in payments due to inaccurate estimates when we review your eligibility.
