Moving in with girlfriend/her childs SSDI

My girlfriend and I are planning to move in together very soon, her son who is four, receives SSDI for his Autism and learning disability. Her concern is that she will lose the benefit with us living together.

I earn decent money on my own, but she depends on his check for things that would otherwise be a strain on our finances. Getting clarification on whether we should be prepared to pick up the costs or not would be a huge help.

In addition to this, we were wondering if the benefits would change with marriage. It's another thing we are contemplating in the foreseeable future. Of course if the benefits would be affected by moving in together I would assume that marriage would also void the eligibility.

I assume you're talking about SSI which is need-based and often given to children, rather than "conventional" disability insurance which is given to disabled adult workers based on their work record.
