My husband and I have been separated for over 20 years, but not divorced.
We live completely separate lives. Can his resources or income affect my SSI application?

I recommend contacting the SSA directly as the treatment of this is not easily defined.
I have seen evidence that even though a couple were "physically separated", they were still found to be a couple for SSI purposes :

However, in your case, any effect of being "married" will likely be reduced since you have been "physically separated" from your husband for over 6 months :
