Hello I ahave a friend to ask this question , he is recieveing a social security pension but he was invloved in a car accident in 2008 , she just recieved a money for that accident from the other insurance she recieved $1600.00 but she just used $600.00 and he gave the other $1000.00 to his daughter to help her in some personal payment , if she recieved from social security pension $674.00 ...this $600.00 is ok ? ...and also she needs to declare in person to a social security adm office ? ...I will really apreciate if someone can answer this , thanks.
Reporting requirements for disability
This was filed under "Disability" so I assume your friend is receiving some form of Social Security disability.
If your friend is receiving "normal" Social Security disability, the reporting requirements regarding other funds are minimal or non-existent. For example, if you receive disability benefits from certain federal, state or local government programs you may have to report that to the SSA. There are other reporting requirements (ex. marriage, moving, etc.). See here for details :

If you receive disability payments based on SSI, the reporting requirements are stricter. In this case, you must report changes in income or changes in your assets. See here for details :
