How long does it take to start direct deposit?
I ask because I signed up on godirect.org on March 3rd 2011 and still have not received the first direct deposit, just the paper check in the mail each month, I read online that it takes 30-60 days to process and I should receive a letter when to expect it to start.
But as of this date, June 12th, nothing has changed. How long could this process take, seriously? For you readers already on direct deposit, how long was it before yours got started when your switched from paper checks?

Starting Direct Deposit spring 2011
It's possible that you may be seeing an unusually long delay now. The government recently stopped issuance of paper checks, so there may have been a flood of direct deposit requests.
If you apply for Social Security benefits on or after May 1, 2011, you must receive your payments through direct deposit or the Direct Express® debit card. If you have not signed up to receive your benefits electronically, we strongly urge you to sign up now. If you do not sign up for direct deposit, the U.S. Department of the Treasury may send your benefits via the Direct Express® debit card program to avoid an interruption in payment.
